You think you can earn enough money blogging? How many visitors do you need a day to be able to quit your job and make full time income online?

I don’t know for sure but I would say, if you have at least 24,000 visitors a day to a particular blog — that’s 1,000 visitors an hour — you can already start to write your resignation letter.

Or better still, you can have the best of both worlds — online and offline — by keeping your job if you really love it because it doesn’t suck, and at the same time continue earning nearly as much or even more online.

I’m writing this based on experience. Although I have not yet reached my moderate target of 1,000 visitors a day, let alone 1,000 an hour, based on the meager visitors I have on one of my blogs, I can safely say that if you have 24,000 visitors a day, you can earn between RM6,500 and RM9,000 a month.

In Malaysia, that amount of income can sustain a small family of four for a month.

How does the figure compute?

Again, I am not really sure. It all just probability and a combination of many factors but the bottom line remains — if you have that amount of traffic, you can have a variety of options to monetise your site.

Let’s put it this way. If you can earn an average of US$1 from an average of 240 visitors a day, it is highly possible that you can earn US$10 a day from 2,400 visitors and US$100 from 24,000 visitors a day. That would make about US$3,000 a month or about RM10,300 a month.

Assuming the figure doesn’t compute that way, it is still safe to say you can earn between RM6,500 and RM9,000 a month from 24,000 visitors a day. You can earn more if you have a multiple income stream.

Does this make sense? It does, to me. Of course, the most difficult part is getting the critical mass of 24,000 visitors a day although there are no lack of resources online on how to achieve that.

Hi Jaxons,

How nice if one is able to generate 24,000 visitors per day, for me I will surely submit my resignation letter.

But for now, I am attached to http://insightsabah.gov.my and as you had assumed, yes this is a Sabah State Government-linked new news portal.

But its posting will be away from the traditional `support government’ kind of stories. Please surf on to check the portal directions.

This blog only has about 20 visitors a day, mostly due to inactivity and the lack of niche. Not sure when I can resume blogging regularly here.

I read that you’ve quit the portal. Just with you all the best in what you are doing next.
