Nokia LogoThe world largest mobile phone maker Nokia has announced a plan Acer, Toshiba, Fujitsu, Sony, Dell, HP and the likes had better watch out.

Nokia said on Monday that it would make and sell its own notebook, called the Booklet 3G, with up to 12 hours of battery life, weighing 1.25kg and is less than 2cm thick. How’s that for a new kid on the notebook block?

Nokia is expected to announce the Booklet 3G’s full specification on Sept 2. So if you have been looking for a new notebook or laptop computer — never put any computer on your lap by the way, especially for men — you may want to wait for the new Nokia notebook.

Me? I think I can live with the 2008 HP Compaq, my blogging workhorse, for the time being.
