For those of you who have blogs and websites with a considerable number of traffic from the United States and Europe; and want to make money by displaying ads only to traffic from those countries, it’s time for you to sign up for the Chitika | Premium ads.
Chitika | Premium is “behaviorally targeted”, as such the ad blocks will not display to “ordinary” traffic. The ads will not be visible even to me, the blog owner.
Here in Jaxon’s Review, there is one such ad blocks which I’ve placed on the right sidebar, just below the “subscribe to Jaxon’s Review via email” and if it is visible to you, that means you are what the ads considered as a premium traffic.
I’ve displayed ordinary Chitika ads in the past but didn’t see any “conversion” but with the Chitika | Premium, I can see some improvement.
So, if it is not visible, how are we going to configure the ads’ placement?
That has been my question; but not to worry, Chitika had thought about this.
To resolve this problem, you can view the placement of a dummy ad by adding #chitikatest after the domain name, for instance, http://www.jaxons.org/#chitikatest on your browser’s address bar and hit “enter” or just refresh the browser. A dummy ad, which is different from those being displayed to premium traffic, will show.
Chitika Premium will not only display products but also services, places of interests and so on.
Why should it be behaviorally targeted?
I guess the answer is improve conversion. The ads are displayed only to “premium traffic”, who would most likely use (click on) the ads, hence improving the conversion (revenue generating clicks) rate.
So if you have decided to monetise your blog but want to maintain a clean, ads-free interface most of the time, Chitika Premium is your solution. If you are interested, here is the link again — Chitika | Premium.
