Contrary to the prevailing “Out of Taiwan” migration theory, the people of Southeast Asia had not migrated from Taiwan 4,000 years ago.
Research by the University of Leeds showed that on the contrary, the migration had taken place much earlier — about 10,000 years ago — from Southeast Asia into surrounding region, including Taiwan. [Source]
