In the next few weeks to come and until after the soon-to-be-announced Malaysian general election, Jaxon’s Review will attempt to discuss the role — or shall I make that the influence — of the Internet, in particular blogs, to the Malaysian politics.

Bloggers have been discussing Malaysian politics and the coming general election at a rate never before seen in a country whose citizens are increasingly Internet-enabled.

Are blogs influential in moving and swinging votes? Are they not? Are bloggers merely digital narcissists as some would like to label them.

But would it be the same if there were no bloggers in Malaysia?

Some bloggers themselves are set to contest in the general election and I’m not talking about politicians who later started a blog but born and bred bloggers who carved a niche for themselves through blogs, and then, only then, they enter politics.

I’m talking about those who are otherwise unknowns had it not for their blogs.

Which make the coming polls all the more interesting, bloggingly speaking. So stay tuned and watch always for this space.
