Tired of the way your post looking the same way day in and day out? Why not spice up your entry by implementing a simple procedure for that elegant, magazine-style look?

Here’s one of the many things that you can do — make a “drop cap”, a big first letter in capital for a post. Then you can also add in the body one or two or even more of the “pull-style” quotes that would give an entry its “elite” look.

…why not spice up your entry by implementing a simple procedure for that elegant, magazine-style look?…

Of course you don’t need to implement this in each and every post because although it’s not that difficult to do, it can be time-consuming to get the format and size right, especially for those who are not so code-savvy like me.

So, instead of writing a post, you could be stuck with getting the correct float, margin and padding, colours and so on.

And it can also be frustrating if the Internet connection is slow because for a magazine-style entry like this, you need to edit and publish it many times until you like the way it appears on your blog.

You can add on many other things like border, double border, colour fill-in and other visual effects once you get use to these two basic procedures.

Anyway, this is not my work. It’s a tips from Mandarin Design. Go over to the website for more details about how to create magazine-style posts and many other tips about how to spice up your blog in terms of appearance.
